For over forty years, the GLBT Historical Society’s work has served as an act of resistance against efforts to erase our LGBTQ+ community.
Access to this history is a right we all share — regardless of who we are, where we come from, and how and who we love. LGBTQ+ history is our history. These are our collective stories. And we are honored to have been entrusted as stewards of this communal memory.

LGBTQ+ History Knows No Borders
This summer, the original 1978 Rainbow Flag travels to Cork Public Museum in Ireland — its first international loan outside the United States. In a moment when Pride flags are being stripped from public spaces across the country, this journey of the Rainbow Flag is a reminder that our shared history belongs to all of us, regardless of borders — and that this symbol of liberation and freedom will endure.
