There will be four screenings of this film. Each takes place on a Thursday in October from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. PDT. Please click on the button for your preferred date to register for that screening.
In honor of LGBTQ History Month, the GLBT Historical Society is teaming up film director Stu Maddox and producer Joseph Applebaum to present a special set of screenings of their 2015 documentary Reel in the Closet, which documents the search to identify and preserve rare home movies of LGBTQ people dating back to the 1930s. Containing rare and moving footage drawn largely from the archives of the GLBT Historical Society as well as from a number of other collections, the film depicts the personal moments and everyday lives of ordinary queer people in earlier decades. The screenings will take place on Thursdays in October starting on October 8 and will be followed by a Q & A with the filmmakers and a panel of LGBTQ activists and historians.
